20 Years Young!

Happy birthday to me! October 7th was my birthday and it was fantastic! I woke up to my parents cooking me breakfast burritos! Yum! They were delicious. After getting ready for the day I headed to the Raines’ to get my gift from Michael off the wall! We then headed to the District to see Frankenweenie! It was such a cute movie, and of course I might have maybe cried more than once…or twice. Haha. Sadly, Carson got sick at the very end of the movie so the Bowcutt’s went home. My parents, Brad and Kami went to my house for dinner which was chicken parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, cauliflower with cheese sauce and my mom’s delicious homemade scones. Oh my…most delicious dinner :) Following dinner we played games for a while and then spent the rest of the night watching some football!

Haha! So in one of my letters a while ago Michael mentioned that he thinks it might be a good idea for me to read a chapter in the scriptures BEFORE getting something off of the wall. Susan had the idea to take this picture and send it to him, he thought it was very funny! Haha!

My birthday present from Mike!!! :D I got this from the wall. It’s a sahweet tag of my name in the shape of animals. That kid is just so creative! I love that about him. Also there was a little note where one side said, “How old are you now?” and the other side said “Email answer to ‘yourfriendthewall@gmail.com’ Seriously. Do it. Trust me! :)” So I did, sadly it didn’t really work out. Mike said that it’s not vital to the wall. I really do wish that I knew why he wanted me to do that. But oh well, I suppose.

I really did have an awesome birthday weekend! Thanks so much to everyone that wished me a happy birthday and also to everyone that got me a gift! It means to world to me to have people surrounding me that care this much about me! I love you all soooo much and can’t imagine life without ya! Here’s to my 20’s!

I am super excited though because Mike FINALLY got my package!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!!!

Monthly Countdown

01-I cannot believe that I've gone through a whole month without Michael. It went by super fast, I hope every month goes by like this!

02-Are we done yet? This month drug on...it felt it would NEVER end! Sad month but we are finally in Poland!

03-Month #3. Another month gone by! Busy busy month.

04-Awesome month! Went by in a flash! I've received a letter and email every single week. Finally feels like the ball is rolling and we're getting somewhere!

05-My goodness! FIVE MONTHS!? Count them...1, 2, 3, 4, 5! That's one whole hand! High five! :) This has been the fastest month yet! Keep them coming! I sent my first package and made some saahweet shirts for myself and him secretly :) I love Michael and the person he is becoming.

06-I am freaking out!!!! OH MY GOSH!!! 6 months!!! How crazy is that!? He is now a "sister missionary" ;) 18 months to go! I'm very proud of both of us for making it this far and I'm so looking forward to our upcoming adventures. The wall is coming along great! I got a birthday package from him and he finally got my first package!

07-Seriously? Where did that month go? I can't believe 7 months have gone by. I never thought that this day would come. Mike and I celebrated our 4 years anniversary and I also sent him a package for it. He's enjoying his mission and his new companion. My love for him grows more and more every single day. I miss him so much.

08-So happy! That's what I am right now. I'm so happy that 8 months are done! I'm so happy to get to hear his voice on Christmas! I'm so happy to be so close to his family. I'm so happy that my family is so amazing and supportive. I'm so happy that I have great friends who are always there for me whenever I need them. And lastly, I'm so happy to have such an amazing missionary/boyfriend that I get to call my own. He is my rock and the person that I can always count on to turn my frown upside down :) Mike is staying in Bydgoszcz for this next transfer. He is now the District Leader! :) He also got a baptism this month! I sent him a Christmas package. I'm so proud of him for all his accomplishments!

09-I have never been more happy :) This is crazy! 9 months! We're actually getting somewhere and I feel so accomplished. I got to talk to him on Christmas! Hearing his voice is exactly what I needed :) Sucked having to say goodbye but only 4 more months until Mothers Day! ;) LOVE THAT BOY!

10-Oh my! We're finally in DOUBLE DIGITS!!! This month has definitely been the toughest month yet. It's been full of ups and downs. I got into a really bad funk...I got pretty down in the dumps but I am finally out of it. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about him or miss him like crazy.

11-No flippin way another month is gone!!! Such a fast month! I'm so happy with how life is going and even more happy about how our relationship is going :) He's serving as a Zone Leader in Warsaw and is loving it! I'm happy just knowing that he's happy :) Looking forward to next month's excitement!

12-AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! Is this real life!?! ONE YEAR DOWN!??! I'm in complete shock but could not be happier to be half way done with this journey. This month sure was exciting! My man turned 20 years old! We had the anniversary of our first kiss :) and his one year mark! Woot! I love and miss that boy like crazy! Just one more year!!!!!!

13-Really!? Another month down? Alright! I have officially been away from Mike longer than I have left to be away from him. YAY! How great is that? SUPER! This has been a good month. Went by fast and can't wait to continue this downhill slope! It's crazy how I feels so close to him even though I'm so far away from him. LOVE THAT BOY SO MUCH! MCR <3

14-Yaaaayyyy!!!! 14 months!? WHAT!? I'm so happy :) I still can't believe how long Mike has been gone. Not a day goes by that I don't think of Mike! He is such an amazing missionary and continues to make me so so proud. Next month we're to single digits!

15-Get outta here!! Another month!? :D What's so special about this month? Well we are now down to SINGLE DIGITS BABY!!!! 9 more Fast Sundays ;) Just gotta get through one more 'mission baby' and he will be home! If there is anyone out there recently pregnant, I'd love to follow your pregnancy, we can have a countdown together ;) Lol. Michael is doing fantastic! He is very much so enjoying being Assistant President with Elder Z. Sadly, I've gone one whole month without a letter but no worries. I luckily still get emails. He is just one busy missionary! I can't say this enough, but I am so proud of that boy. Love him with my whole heart! Can't wait to have him back in my arms <3

16-I can't believe I've made it this far! This is like the home stretch. I have 8 more months until Michael is home...EIGHT! That's insane! I couldn't be happier. This lucky little girl got to celebrate month 16 in Hawaii! Oh yeah, that's right! I got to write in the sand and all that jazz. I remember when I first started this whole thing. Sitting there, seeing other girls who only had eight months left and wishing that I could trade places with them...that I could be a "senior MG", if you will. Well, now I am that girl. And I'm sure others are wishing that they could be in my place. That their wait was almost over. If I've learned anything from having a missionary is that time is a precious thing. You need to take it and enjoy every moment. Not just wish that you could fast forward. Anyways, I'm rambling. Main thing, only 8 more short months til our reunion :)

17-Really loving how fast time is going now! This month seriously went by super fast for me! The downhill definitely does go faster. And I love it. Mike is A.P. for another transfer which he is happy about. With 7 more months left, reality is starting to set in and I can't believe that this wait is starting to come to an end...

18-Let me go freak out for a moment....18 MONTHS ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?! Where did the time go? Time is moving and life is great. Elder Raines is loving the mission and doing amazing. I'm so so proud of him. But can these 6 months please go by fast!?

19-FIVE MORE MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I can count the months left on one hand...high five! :) I'm kind of just at the point where I'm ready. I'm ready to have this kid back home with me. It's so close, yet so far away. Time is starting to drag. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary and ya know what? Christmas is right around the corner..... :)

20-Ridiculous. That is all I have to say. Twenty months!? Are you kidding me?? That's insane! Where did the time go? This kid is just....everything to me. And the finish line is just a measly 4 months away. It's crazy and kind of scary to think that these next few months are just going to FLY by.

21-I can’t believe this is happening. This is coming to an end. The two years that I’ve been waiting for is almost here…It’s crazy. This has been a fun ride…but I’m ready to get off ;)
